What is Telemed?
- 24/7/365 access to a primary care doctor in their state via phone call or video chat.
- Members and eligible dependents request consultations via phone, web, or mobile app.
- Member provides basic medical history so doctor can consult, diagnose, and prescribe for common conditions.
- Reduces PCP, urgent care, and ER health plan utilization.
What will it cost me?
- There is no cost to the member for phone or teleconference.
- Does not go towards the District's claims.
- Any member, even those who receive the buyback, will be able to use this benefit.
- The LTA will pay 1/2 the cost and the School Department will pay 1/2 the cost. The member will NOT be charged for this service nor will any call/conference contribute to the claims or co-pays of the member.
What are the next steps for TELEMED?
- Representative of Legacy Benefits will be at each school answering questions regarding TELEMED. There will also be one night meeting to accommodate member's schedules as well as for spouses to attend.
- Program will begin January 1, 2020. Members will not be billed for any service. The LTA will pay 1/2 the cost and the School Department will pay the other 1/2. None of the services contribute to the claims or co-pays.
- In January 2020, each member participating in TELEMED program will complete a health overview through a phone call or on-line.
